"You ain't gotta remind me, my mind free."
Salomon Faye is a New York rapper, but at a time when so much of the city's popular music reaches toward other genres or eras for aesthetic inspiration, nothing in this video screams the year 2013—or any other year. He raps about what he fights to be, about his own growth, but all the while professes in a way that aims to enlighten, to broadcast his perspective.
In the video, he rides around Brooklyn with some shirtless white guys during the photographer's golden hour. He eschews anything ostentatious in favor of the simple, though his Super Saiyan hair speaks loudly enough. Watch above.
