Apparently Jay forgets what happened to the song.

As part of Jay-Z's extended Q&A session on Twitter, Jay was asked if the mythical "Dead Presidents 3" would ever see the light of day. Known to be tight-lipped about the status of old records, Jay decided to be surprisingly forthcoming in his reply, saying that he gave the song to Just Blaze or Young Guru for their safekeeping. In a surprising twist, he then said that both men had his blessing to release the song immediately, which sent the Twitterverse into a frenzy.

Unfortunately for fans interested in the full track, it likely will not ever be seeing the light of day.

Just Blaze responded to the barrage of tweets, saying that the song has essentially already come out. According to him, "Dead Presidents 3" was a two-verse song, with one of the verses eventually used on another song that did come out. The other verse came out in an incomplete version of the song that DJ Green Lantern put out on one of his mixtapes. With both verses out, Just does not feel the need to release the song itself.

Oh, and if you were curious, Just Blaze has Jay Electronica's Act II on his phone. Good to know.

RT @JordanJClemons @S_C @S_C is there a finished version of DeadPresidents 3#MCHG [Just or Guru has it I give them Twitter permission to GO]
Hey guys. Sorry to crush your dreams but...
All you've heard of DP3 is all that exists.
To clarify: DP3 had 2 verses, one of which got used on another record (can't remember, (Blk Albm maybe). So there's only that 1 verse. Sorry
That being said, The one verse version is out. Has been for years. Was on a @DJGREENLANTERN mix tape. Google is your friend.
@NewGod_Fl0w I have act 2 on my phone right now.
