After announcing the title of his sophomore album over the weekend, 2 Chainz spoke with MTV about the inspiration behind B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Time.
"I feel like my music actually gives people a sense of going away sometimes — without really going on vacation," said Chainz. "Every time somebody wants to have some 'me time,' this is the type of project [to listen to]."
The album already boasts the lead-single "Feds Watching," featuring Pharrell, which 2 Chainz described as a change to his usual approach. "For me it was about of course staying comfortable but trying new stuff, and that's what I did rocking with Pharrell." He added, "It just felt like it was something different, it felt like it was something that needed to happen."
B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Time will be released September 10.
