We're intrigued with The White Mandingos. It's a supergroup of sorts, including rapper Murs, Bad Brains founding member Darryl Jenifer and Ego Trip co-creator Sacha Jenkins SHR. Their forthcoming album, The Ghetto is Tryna Kill Me, is a concept record told from the perspective of fictional character Tyrone White, a black rock singer confronting issues of racial identity in his music and love life.
Out today, the Mandingos' video for "The Ghetto is Tryna Kill Me" uses vintage film and natural scenery. It's a disjointed foray into hip-hop and punk rock. Watch the visuals above. The Ghetto is Tryna Kill Me is out June 11 on Fat Beats. SWAG.
