British songstress Adele wowed the crowd at this year's Academy Awards with a chilling performance of "Skyfall," which, by the way, took home the Oscar for Best Original Song. Both her dress and vocals dazzled despite the vaguely unsettling lava lamp display that took hold of the projection screen behind her at around the 2:50 mark.
Adele's win with "Skyfall", which was the theme song for the James Bond flick of the same name, marks the first time that a 007 theme has taken home an Oscar. Three previous Bond tunes were nominated for Best Original Song: "For Your Eyes Only," "Nobody Does It Better," and "Live and Let Die." Everything Adele touches turns to gold.
