The First Thing I Bought When I Got Rich is a recurring feature in which today's most popular artists open up about the big purchases they made immediately following early success.

Gucci Mane has a song called "'Vette Pass By," and it turns that the subject matter wasn't just a fantasy. When the the Atlanta rapper stopped by Complex to talk about some of his most essential projects, he also took a moment to reminisce on when he first started getting money, and what he did with it. Read on for Gucci's quick story about the car he copped, and the color he chose.

What was the first thing you bought when you got rich?
I started getting some money from doing shows, going to Tennessee, and into small towns. $4,000, $1,500. The first car I bought was a Corvette.

How much did it cost?
60 bands. $60,000.

When did you buy it?
In 2004.

What color was it?
Yellow. I always had yellow cars from day one. I feel like if it’s yellow, and it’s a sports car, it’ll attract a lot of attention.
