Earlier today, we reported that marijuana, heroin, and a loaded firearm were seized from Nelly's tour bus after it was stopped at a border checkpoint Sierra Blanca, Texas. Nelly and six other members of his crew who were riding on the bus were detained, but one of his crew members, Brian Keith Jones, admitted the illegal drugs and loaded gun were his, and was then arrested while Nelly and the rest were released.
Tonight, Nelly released a statement regarding the incident, and also took to Twitter to address what happened and comment on his friend's arrest. Read his statement and tweets below.
It is my understanding a member of my staff made an unfortunate decision to bring unlawful materials onto our tour bus that resulted in his arrest this morning, October 11th. Neither I nor anyone else on the tour bus was aware of his decision to bring these on board. Law enforcement officials in Sierra Blanca, Texas did not press charges against anyone other than that individual.
