Album: 3 Feet High and Rising
Producer: Prince Paul/De La Soul

De La Soul’s 3 Feet High and Rising single was groundbreaking at the time for its use of multiple samples. The song incorporates Otis Redding’s whistling from the last 20 seconds of “(Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay” and the guitar and horns from The Mad Lads “Make This Young Lady Mine,” along with guitar, keyboard, and vocals from Steely Dan’s “Peg” and drums from “Sing A Simple Song” by Sly and The Family Stone.
