It’s a dark day for Florida indie rock quartet Surfer Blood. According to recently publicized documents from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s office, frontman John Paul Pitts was arrested for battery earlier this year. Pitts was first taken in on March 31 when he allegedly attacked his girlfriend of one year.
The report states that after an evening out, the couple got in a fight and, according to his girlfriend,

Pitts pleaded not guilty of battery of May 4, then received a “plea and pass” on July 13. Pitts’ charges will be dropped in April of next year if he follows through on a court-mandated program.
