It looks like dedicated fans of 2Pac weren’t the only ones amazed by his hologram at Coachella last night. His mother, Afeni Shakur, who has been known to be very protective of his estate, appreciated the likeliness to her son and his virtual performance.

Although Afeni didn’t attend the concert personally, she watched it unfold live on the Internet. According to TMZ, Dr. Dre needed to ask her for permission to incorporate Pac into the performance. As a thank you, he donated to the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation.

Many of us have learned that Nate Dogg was expected to appear in holographic form during Dre and Snoop Dogg’s set. TMZ also reports that Daz Dillinger said the idea for Nate Dogg’s hologram was pulled at the very last minute. It was replaced with a video tribute.
