Cee Lo Criticized For Changing Lyrics To John Lennon's "Imagine"

Cee Lo Criticized For Changing Lyrics To John Lennon's "Imagine"

For his New Year's Eve performance, Cee Lo Green took on the classic John Lennon tune "Imagine." It was a pretty straightforward cover, but he made one small change, and it didn't go unnoticed. Cee Lo changed the lyric "Nothing to kill or die for, and no religion too" for the slightly more politically correct "Nothing to kill or die for, and all religion's true."

Lennon enthusiasts were not happy. After Cee Lo was flooded with messages from angry fans, he sent out an apology on Twitter and explained, "Yo I meant no disrespect by changing the lyric guys ... I was trying to say a world where u could believe what u wanted, that's all." The message was deleted soon after he sent it and replaced with "Happy New Year Everyone!" You can't please everyone.

Gnars Barkley had it's moments, (Thanks to my boy Dangermouse) but Cee Lo's solo shit is fuckin annoying. This shit pisses me off dude! Keep your pudgy ass hands off John Lennon's work. No joke. P.S. that song "Fuck You" FUCKIN SUCKS DUDE. I feel like poppin a glock in my dome every time I hear that shit on TV, or in the mall, or in the car, or while I'm listening to the radio while takin a fuckin shower!! Driving me crazy and shit! SUCK A FUCK CEE LO GREEN. Congratulations on the success... NOW DIE SCUM!!!!!
