Like the Talking Heads footage we saw last week, the above video of David Bowie has been seen by fewer eyes than you would imagine. You see, what happened was his 1973 performance on Top of the Pops was believed to have been lost forever after BBC was forced to wipe their VHS tapes clean for reuse.
But it turns out that one of the cameramen on set saved a tape for his personal collection and, thanks to YouTube, everyone can get a good look at Thin White Duke circa '73. He and his band, then called the Spiders From Mars, tear through a performance of "The Jean Genie," the lead single off his sixth album, Alladin Sane.
