There is no celebration on New Year's Eve as big and iconic as the one in New York City's Times Square every year. For each event, one special guest is chosen to count down the final seconds of the year as the ball drops, and it's been revealed that the 2011 honor will go to Lady Gaga.

Past guests have included the Clintons, Colin Powell, Muhammed Ali, and Rudy Giuliani. Gaga will not only act as the special guest, but she'll also perform on ABC's "New Year's Rockin' Eve" with Dick Clark and Ryan Seacrest.
