In a letter to their fans on their website today, The White Stripes have announced that the band is no more due to "A myriad of reasons, but mostly to preserve what is beautiful and special about the band have it stay that way.” After 6 studio albums, the band has given up their legacy to the fans so they can carry it with them for the rest of eternity.
