Nicki Unleashes "Roman's Revenge" (October 2010)


What happened? On the Eminem-featuring track on her debut album, Nicki decided to rip a hole in the curtain of respect that once stopped her from airing her distaste for Kim on record. Although she never says Kim's name in the song, "Roman's Revenge" is Nicki's strongest and most definitive attack on The Queen Bee to date. With lines like, “Is it my fault that all of you bitches gone?” and “Word, that bitch mad ’cause I took the spot?/Well, bitch, if you ain’t shittin’, then get off the pot/Got some niggas out in Brooklyn that’ll off your top,” it seemed like Nicki's competitive spirit had finally trumped her inclination to respect her elders, and thence evened out a beef that previously appeared to be pitifully one-sided.
