After moving to Baltimore, Walston hooked up with Gordon and Colmus, touring constantly and developing the tightest loose-sounding rock outfit around. "We've been together four years. Pretty much the day Steve joined the band we just started touring. We'd book two weeks, go out, do that, and then we sort of just extended the tour every time. We're not a jam band [though]. There are things about bands like the Rolling Stones or the Replacements where it's like, 'Maybe this is gonna come off the rails,' but it doesn't. And then you realize maybe there's another level of musicianship going on."
