#5. Joe Budden - Mood Muzik Series
Best Installment: Mood Muzik 2: Can It Get Any Worse?
Complex Says: The first part of this series was really just a glorified "Best of" tape, ironically titled the "Worst of." Possibly inspired by how labelmate Juelz Sanata got Def Jam's attention through his Cooked Crack series, Jump Off Joey took his mixtape game to a new level trying to do the same. Mood Muzik 2 is one of the best examples of mixtape-as-album, filled with original production and heartfelt ballads ("If I Die Tomorrow," "Young Niggas"). Although the series didn't help Joey release The Growth in the end, it revitalized his career and made him an Internet favorite. Or did Tahiry do that?
