Donald Trump took the opportunity at his Greensboro, North Carolina campaign rally Friday to address the many, many sexual assault allegations that have been lodged against him in the past week.
One he talked about in particular came from Jessica Leeds, who told the New York Timesthis week that Trump grabbed her breasts while seated next to her on a flight in the 1980s. But instead of apologizing or calmly denying the allegations, Trump doubled down on the rhetoric that has caused voters and Republican legislators to flee from him in droves, implying that he didn't assault her because she's too ugly.
“Believe me, she would not be my first choice, that I can tell you,” Trump said to a jeering crowd. “That would not be my first choice,” referring to Leeds as "that."
It is, like most of the allegations against him, not an isolated incident.
On Friday, Trump also insulted the appearance of Hillary Clinton, saying “when she walked in front of me, believe me, I wasn’t impressed.”
Trump has insulted the appearances of dozens of women, but the last week of his campaign has been particularly revealing, as well as damaging for his image among female voters.
CNN uncovered audio of old Trump appearances on Howard Stern, in which discussed his sexual history with black women, told Stern it's fine to call his daughter Ivanka a "piece of ass," said that emotionally troubled women are the "best in bed," remarked that he refuses to have sex with women over 35 years old, and adds that he "couldn't care less" about the pleasure of women he sleeps with.
Trump has also been accused of sexually assaulting eleven women, bragged on tape about being able to "grab [women] by the p****," and told a 10-year-old girl that he looks forward to dating her.
