New York Lawyer Fired After Video That Accused Him of Snatching Black Woman's Wig

The man was identified as Anthony Orlich, who according to the law firm he once worked at, no longer has a job.

A New York City lawyer has been fired from his job after a viral TikTok video showed a Black woman accuse him of snatching her wig as she was walking down the street.

As shown in the original video uploaded by Lizzy Ashliegh in the past week, the man is approached and asked why he allegedly pulled off her wig. "This man just took off my wig and kept walking," Ashliegh wrote alongside the video, in which the man appears to have a grin on his face as one of his friends appears to ask him to apologize.

"Sir, for what fucking reason?" she asks him in the video. "For what reason did you take my wif off? What made you think that was a good thing to do? ... Why did you do that?"

In the comments for the video, which now has almost 60,000 likes and over 4,000 comments, users were able to determine the identity of the man as Anthony Orlich. His name and picture appeared on the website of Berkon Colao & Silverstein LLP's website, where he was listed as an associate. He has since been removed from the site.

In a post shared on its LinkedIn account, the law firm confirmed that Orlich is no longer employed by the firm. "We have been made aware of a video of a non-work related incident involving one of our associates circulating on social media," the post reads. "We take seriously any inappropriate behavior by any employee, whether inside or outside the workplace. This associate is no longer with the Firm."
