President Barack Obama's festival South by South Lawn kicked off on the south lawn of the White House on Monday. It will feature panels, musical performances, and more. The festival is modeled after Austin's South by Southwest, where the President was a keynote speaker in March.

The event "will bring together creators, innovators, and organizers who work day in and day out to improve the lives of their fellow Americans and people around the world," according to the White House.
