John Elliott's Spring/Summer 2018 Field Manual collection lookbook is finally here.
The collection, which made its first appearance in June 2017 via Elliott's Instagram account being modeled by the likes of Luka Sabbat, Nick Young, and ASAP Nast, will finally be arriving next week. Adding to his original 24 look offering, Elliott now showcases a full 61-photo lookbook.
Shot by photographer Patrick Maus, the lookbook uses various California backdrops like Death Valley, Palm Springs, and Joshua Tree Park. It definitely gives off the summery vibes, something that Elliott has previously spoken about regarding his Field Manual collection.
"The tones and colors reminded my girlfriend and I of summers growing up–we’d leave out T-shirts out in the sun for hours and when we ended up throwing them back on, they’d be a pale, washed out version before taking them off. We both knew I had to adapt that into the collection."
Elliott's latest collection continues his affinity for premium essentials. Included in the line are staples like hoodies and sweatpants, as well as pieces like mesh basketball shorts alluding back to the designer's frequent inspiration from his love for the sport. The varied capsule also includes pieces like denim and leather jackets, cut off denim shorts, short sleeve button-ups, long sleeve T-shirts, tank tops, and more. It uses a summery color palette that includes shades like pink, blue, and yellow in solid and graphic-printed options along with more muted tones like black, grey, and olive as well.
As a step out of Elliott's usual comfort zone, small graphical patchwork is utilized on jackets and all-over floral prints can be seen on various garments as well to add some variety to the usual lack of outward branding and graphics on Elliott's clothing.
