UPDATED 5/17/16: The CFDA has announced that its plans to broadcast the Fashion Awards for the first time have now been canceled. WWD is reporting that the deal with The Weinstein Company, which was behind the television broadcast is off.

Not everyone is lucky enough to get an invite to the CFDA Fashion Awards, so this year they're bringing the awards to you. For the first time ever, the show, which has been called the Oscars of fashion, will be broadcast live on television. Now, you'll be able to see your favorite designers accept their awards from the comfort of your own home.

Earlier this week, the CFDA also announced the list of nominees up for this year's awards. The Menswear Designers of the Year category include names like Thom Browne, Todd Snyder, and Public School. John Elliott and Gypsy Sport are also in the running for the emerging talent category. The recipient of the Fashion Icon award hasn't been revealed, but previously it was awarded to stylish celebrities like Pharrell and Rihanna, who showed up on the red carpet in her unforgettable see-through dress.

The show will take place on June 6, but no specific broadcast information has been released yet. Stay tuned.
