The Balmain Biker Jean has been a staple in the wardrobes of just about every fashion conscious athlete, musician, and celebrity in the game over the last few seasons. With its slim-fit cut, signature ribbed details above the knee, and zipper detailing, it's not surprising the fan base the jean has developed.
Unfortunately, many of us can't afford the exorbitant sticker price for a pair of Balmains. Ranging in price from $1000 to well over $2750 for the all-leather model, fans seeking to mimic the look find themselves having to look elsewhere. One of the latest brands to pillage Balmain for its design is Bullhead Denim Company - a possible PAC-SUN private label brand - which is currently selling several of its Moto models in the $65 range. Is this type of jacking anything new? Of course not. In fact, several notable brands have their own Moto denim styles including Ralph Lauren, Saint Laurent, and H&M.
While some 'heads swear they'll only stick to the quality, high-end product, isn't it a good thing to have options? It's not like they're peddling fakes like bootleg Jordans. These brands are selling their goods under their labels. Many will never be cool with the element of swagger jacking, but many others will appreciate the more affordable options these brands offer. The debate on this subject could go on for all eternity, but while you're at it, take a look at a side-by-side comparison between a pair of Bullheads and Balmains.
In the end though, just stick to your guns and do you. If you're comfortable in your own skin and gear, then nothing else should matter.
