Aimé Leon Dore is teasing a new project entitled In the Pocket. The new apparel collection is inspired by the photograph printed on the hoodie above of someone laying down holding a weathered basket.
The picture was taken by 23-year-old New Yorker Derek Blu. ALD designer Teddy Santis, also a native New Yorker, writes that the photograph "effortlessly captures the essence of the city I call home." In addition to representing NYC, "it is a pure and truthful representation of Leon Dore and everything it stands for," Santis says.
The collection includes a T-shirt and hoodie featuring the photograph, a waffle knit thermal printed with "NY, NY," and an Aimé Leon Dore-branded beanie.
The In the Pocket project also includes a three-track EP, which you can listen to here, from Blu's younger brother YL. By incorporating photography and music into this latest endeavor, it becomes Aimé Leon Dore's most multi-dimensional effort yet.
You can learn more about the project here, and shop the collection on ALD's webshop tomorrow, March 14.
