The death of comedian Robin Williams hit the entertainment world pretty hard this week. Every comedian with the platform to do so has paid his or her respects to "the Bob Hope of his generation," and celebrities have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts and condolences. As an entertainer, Williams touched the lives of millions over the past five decades, so it's no surprise that the street art world has joined the chorus of praise by creating incredible memorial portraits around the world.

Graffiti artist and former curator of New York's 5Pointz graffiti mecca, Meres One, shared the photo above on his Instagram of a piece he created with fellow artist See TF. The tribute features a portrait of Williams (either mid-joke or mid-laugh) with the words "Rest in Paradise" and one of his many inspirational quotes: "No matter what people tell you, words and ideas can change the world."

Other great tribute murals have popped up this week around the world. In Belgrade, an unknown artist captured the softer side of Robin Williams, portraying him in black and white with a slight smile.

Dublin-based artist TheRealPan pasted a portrait of Williams with a colorful beard and hair the week before his death and called it a "very spooky coincidence" that the comedian died soon after.

Another art tribute that didn't actually happen on the streets is this cool illustration by AboveAvrge on Instagram. It shows the inside of an office with Robin Williams' name on the desk and shelves of mementos that are references from his legendary career.
