No matter how you cut it, the color black will always be in style. But how do you one-up someone already wearing an all-murdered-out-everything outfit? How about go one level deeper with the blackest and darkest material known to man.
A British company has developed a new “super black.” The shade, called Vantablack, sets a record by absorbing all but 0.035 of the light around it. It’s so mind-blowingly dark that the human eye cannot comprehend what the hell it’s looking at.
“It's like black, like a hole, like there's nothing there. It just looks so strange," adds Ben Jensen, the firm's chief technical officer.
In fact, if Vantablack were used to create some type of outfit, you wouldn’t even be able to make out the design. You'd straight-up be a walking black hole or a shadow, or just a floating head if your dome is exposed. This might be ideal for military use, but fabricating this into something like an everyday outfit will be “very expensive," according to its creators.
At least you know you can show those murdered-out kits that there are levels to this, bruh. Yo, Rick Owens, get on this.
