Japanese label Dr. Franken makes an impressive debut with its fall/winter 2014 collection. Drawing inspiration from Mary Shelley’s iconic mad scientist character, the range combines various fabrics, patterns, and colors to assemble each wearable piece.

Despite the grotesque, monstrous reference of the brand name, the straight-forward collection is tastefully understated. Comprised of jackets, coats, hoodies, and checkered panel button-downs, this straight-forward range indicates this young company knows how to execute a consistent and cohesive collection.

Take a look above to check out the brand’s offerings, which go on sale July 7 at a pop-up shop in Tokyo’s Shibuya district.
