Tom Ford Spring/Summer 2015 Flies Over New Mexico And Heads Straight To Vegas

None

Wooooo, Tom Ford came through in a big way for his S/S 15 collection. To be honest, we had almost given up on Ford in the wake of his corny AF high-end knock offs of those "Tom Ford Molly" T-shirts, but it seems like he's gotten his shit together since then. Hopefully he had a long chat with Jay Z and told him to just stop namedropping him in songs. But, whatever the reason, Ford is evidently off that suiting wave he helped make famous (and, subsequently, hella played out amongst celebs) and is onto the luxury, Western-inspired sportswear tip (shouts to the boy Lifshitz). Essentially, his new colleciton looks like a cross between Ralph Lauren Black label and RRL. As critical juggernaut Tim Blanks conveniently points out, Ford's permanent home is currently in Sante Fe, New Mexico, a fact which comes through heavily in the new offerings. However, and somewhat not even remotely surprisingly, it's all done up in a way that reads unmistakably Tom Fordian, thanks to the always razor sharp tailoring and overall opulence dripping off these lookbook images. There's now distressed jeans where we've previously come to expect wool trousers and brown, durable, washed leather where there once was rigid gator and python. While these clothes may be inspired by cowboys and desert sands, they're still meant for guys who would rather fly over New Mexico, en route to a cocaine and hooker-fueled long weekend in Vegas.
