German street art collective Mentalgassihas teamed up with Brazilian street artist Mundano to spruce up the trashcans of Sao Paulo. Possibly inspired by the fact that the city’s waste receptacles are mounted to thick, large wooden poles, the four artists re-imagined these metal necessities as backpacks for black-and-white city strollers. The remarkably lifelike pole people appear to be carrying the trashcans on their backs (straps have been thoughtfully included in each act of art), and the cans themselves have been outfitted with designs as well.
