Bay Area artist Andrew Schoultz has been on our radar for quite some time now. Back in January, dude dropped a collection of sick, hand-painted skateboard decks which sold for a couple hundred bucks—a steal for a piece by someone who has shown in both galleries and museums. For those who missed out on the artist's last batch of hand-painted art, here's another chance for you to swoop in on your own (affordable) Andrew Schoultz original.
Schoultz spent many hours adding to each of his 35 Sing The Troubled Beast prints. The artist has meticulously painted a tri-color French border around the frame of each of his illustrations, also adding smaller details with black paint to each of the prints. He's also incorporated an eye in the upper-left corner and a cloud in the bottom-left corner. Schoultz then went above and beyond, hand-painting intricate gold leaves and flames onto each print using 23-karat gold pigment, too.
The prints measure 34x24 inches. Each one has been uniquely hand-painted and printed on Coventry Rag Paper. Schoultz has signed and numbered each of these limited edition prints. They go on sale this Thursday, May 15 at 7 p.m. London time. (That's 2 p.m. for those living in New York.) They go for £175 or approximately $294 USD a pop. If you want to nab one of these customized prints, you'll have to act fast. Since there are only 35 editions, they'll probably sell out pretty fast.
