Mykita and Maison Martin Margiela have combined their talents to craft a collection of sunglasses that is both familiar and radically different at the same time. The new video for the campaign embodies this aesthetic mix, showing off every pair of frames in the collection.
Somber, and almost bleak, the video is understated and simple, with minimal music and absolutely no dialogue. The film follows individuals through cityscapes and country roads as they ultimately stare up into the sky, sunlight reflecting off the lenses of the collection's two models: the Duals or the Essentials.
The two companies share a solemn, modern approach to design—something that oozes out of the collaboration, epitomized by this short film.
