Raf Simons just showed his new Fall/Winter 2014 collection to end the first day of the men's shows of Paris Fashion Week. For this season, Simons partnered with artist Sterling Ruby, and the two claimed that every single item in the collection was a true collaborative effort. Simons explained that, "There is not one shirt, one shoe, one sock that is not from our mutual thinking process.”
So then, are two minds better than one? With an obvious move back to Raf's roots, the collection is extremely graphic this season, with images of our galaxy's planets, head-to-toe bleach-splatted looks, and patchwork moments dominating the line-up. Anyone hoping to catch a glimpse of future sneakers by Raf were disappointed, but the oversized rain boots accompanying each outfit were a great pairing.
The label kept the color black as a base for the collection, with pops of red, off-white, and green giving a stark and perfect contrast. We can see this collection easily being a commercial and editorial success in the future and can guarantee hip-hop's finest (read: A$AP Rocky) will be dripped up and draped out in a lot of this collection's pieces.
