Paris-based studio Beckmann-N'Thépé Architects has constructed a house in Norway that was designed as a “minimalist object.”The structure, located in the Bellavilliers countryside, is a perfect cube, and has only one pronounced opening per side. The windows are spaced to punctuate the structure at various intervals. The front door is camouflaged into the wooden cladding by using the same horizontal timber paneling that was employed to create the building's outer facades. The design makes it appear as clean-cut and geometric as possible without seeming too plain.The outer wooden paneling is onyx, which contrasts sharply with the blocky white window framing.
There is a dining-kitchen-living space that is cozy and modern on the ground floor, along with a bedroom and a bathroom. The second floor mezzanine contains an additional bedroom.
