Back in 2012, Rem Koolhaas's architectural firm OMA worked with Kanye West and his firm DONDA to design the pyramid-shaped seven-screen pavilion at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival where his short film Cruel Summer was shown. In October of 2013, Rem Koolhaas's son, Tomas Koolhaas, sat down with Kanye for an interview that will appear in his documentary about his father entitled REM. Tomas recently posted clips from the interview online to promote the project (which is currently seeking funding via Kickstarter).

In the selected clips, Kanye talks his love for Koolhaas's work and being able to work with the company in his position as "a musician, as a rapper, and as a celebrity," when others would have chosen to do other things with their money. For the rest of the clip he talks less about Koolhaas and more about his own endeavors. He tells Tomas that he considers himself an inspiration to people because he is willing to fail while others are afraid to try.
