Most people have heard or have read stories that end with "and they lived happily ever after." Disney is probably the biggest pusher of that narrative with their decades of princess stories. Photographer Dina Goldstein decided that it was time to put those lies to bed with a photo series of "Fallen Princesses." The series takes viewers into the lost chapter in the lives of princesses including Jasmin, Ariel, Cinderella, and Snow White. Alcoholism, parenthood, plastic surgery, illness, and other real-world tragedies plague their perfect fantasy lives. We think this dark interpretation is amazing and the photos are beautiful.
Goldstein has also released a Fallen Princesses book which includes the series, interviews, and anecdotes about the project so check that out for more.
