Today, French street artist Blek le Rat painted this mural in Bushwick, New York, and we got a chance to check out the work as he was putting it up. Blek le Rat's piece features a dog wearing a sweater and a portrait of Andy Warhol, with Blek le Rat's signature rat at the bottom left of the piece.

Known as the "Father of Stencil Graffiti," Blek le Rat is painting this mural in anticipation of his upcoming solo show at Jonathan LeVine Gallery. Titled "Ignorance is Bliss" the one man street art exhibition opens tomorrow and closes October 5.

Jonathan LeVine Gallery has become something of a street art powerhouse this summer. Last month, the gallery staged "10 Years of Wooster Collective" in a pop-up location in Chelsea, New York, a show that displayed iconic works from international street art legends. Also in the theme of gallery graffiti, last night Jeffery Deitch's show "Calligraffiti" opened with a spectacle at Leila Heller Gallery.

"Ignorance is Bliss" is on view at Jonathan LeVine Gallery from September 7 until October 5.
