A doctor named Zhang Biqing spent six years and $24 million dollars building his dream home on the top of an apartment building in Beijing, without permission from the proper authorities. Biqing constructed a huge mountain villa complete with plantlife and trellises, adding two stories to the 26 level highrise. All of his efforts may have been for naught, because now the authorities (whom he should have consulted with in the first place) have deemed the construction illegal and have given Biqing two weeks to prove that it is structurally sound or he would be forced to knock it down.
