Earlier this month, auctioneer Simon de Pury told The Daily Beast that he's "addicted to Instagram." A glance at his feed (simondepury) shows a breadth of art pieces, artists, and art world figures, and tonight, it includes rapper Rick Ross. On Friday night, Ross performed at Russell Simmons' 14th annual Art for Life event in Bridgehampton, continuing to dip into the art world here are there like he did last December at Art Basel Miami (where he bought a Richard Mosse photograph) and like Jay Z did earlier this month at Pace Gallery. Ross has also bought work from Mr. Brainwash, adding to what we can imagine is an increasingly robust collection.

It's likely that Ross may have also attended Robert Wilson's benefit for the Watermill Center in New York last night, which is where de Pury was with Lady Gaga and Marina Abramovic (as evidenced by his Instagram). Influential figures in music and art are certainly mingling now more than ever, and the world will have a chance to see for themselves with Jay Z's "Picasso Baby" video debuting on HBO this Friday.
