Why Retro Style Is Overrated

Too much of one style and you'll turn into a caricature.

So, you’ve researched the exact way miners wore their jeans in 1873, learned how to perfectly wax your moustache into something that Salvador Dali would admire, and even dusted-up your chambray shirt to perfectly replicate your laborer ambitions—great, you look like a joke. There are certain elements that are worth borrowing from vintage or retro style, but when you start to become a caricature, it’s time to tone it done a bit. We’re not saying you have to dress super modern, or wear clothes that were only released within the past few months, but the current style climate into consideration before you decide that your everyday swag looks like Charlie Chaplin.
