Sometimes art can come from aggression and there's nothing like the angst that comes from spoiled romance. Frustrated with the New York dating scene, designers Jessica Walsh and Timothy Goodman have unveiled their project "40 Days of Dating," an interesting exploration of love and art that has the potential to unite the two.

They explain on their website:

It’s been said that it takes 40 days to change a bad habit. In an attempt to explore and hopefully overcome their fears and inadequacies, Tim and Jessica will go through the motions of a relationship for the next 40 days: the commitment, time, companionship, joys and frustrations. Can they help each other, or will they fall into their same habits? Will they damage their friendship? What if they fall in love?

But the project isn't just a whole bunch of dates. They are documenting their courtship on their website with the help of eighty designers and illustrators. They two also complete questionaires that contain their reflections on their outings, revealing experiences everyone can relate to:

We really love the videos that they have created for the series. As pictured above, they are willing to suffer an assortment of mice crawling over them for their art. They also have an encounter with a sumo wrestler, a chainsaw, and dripped goo with feathers (just look at the video):
