Do you love "Star Wars" and toys? Well you're in luck. Yesterday in New York City’s Times Square, LEGO revealed its largest project ever. The toy company unveiled a life-size X-wing Starfighter made out of 5,335,200 Lego bricks. It weighs almost 46,000 pounds and also has a full-scale R2-D2 located in the cockpit.
The piece was created was created to celebrate “The Yoda Chronicles,” a brand new animated series making its debut on Cartoon Network. The three-part Lego Star Wars saga premiers next week. The model will stay in Times Square until Saturday, so if you want to see it yourself you still have time. After that, you will have to travel to Legoland California Resort, where it will remain until the end of the year.
The model was made in a Lego model shop in Kladno, Czech Republic and is actually pretty stuntastic. It is made to withstand transportation, setup, and breakdown. It's large enough for children to sit on the cockpit where a photo booth has been installed to preserve the memory of the structure. Buttons on the back of it play sounds from the films.
