Self-taught designer Takashi Kobayashi builds tree houses in various areas throughout Japan in order to bring man and nature closer as one. He has been the carpenter and architect of 120 houses throughout Japan so far, and his first structure was built in 1993. Working with a collective group of Tree House People, he builds using reclaimed wood while allowing for the host tree to continue growing normally.  Kobayashi's work has added tree houses to the Japanese landscape as he aims to create a tradition that further unifies humans and nature.
