TIME Magazine's annual list of The 100 Most Influential People in the World came out today, with a mag cover featuring none other than Jay-Z. Amongst writers, athletes, actors, musicians, and many other known cultural figures, artist Ed Ruscha and architect Wang-Shu have made the list. Ruscha, known for influencing generations of artists with his riddles, book art, and California-inspired paintings, and Wang-Shu, the Pritzker Prize-winning architect known for blending traditional Chinese architectural aesthetics with contemporary design, undoubtedly stand out in 2013 as figures influencing in and out of art and architecture. We applaud their talent, recognition, and influence past, present, and future.
