Andy Warhol's Former NYC Home Is on the Market for $5.8 Million

The home is arguably a collector's item in itself.

Andy Warhol remains one of the most important contemporary artists of our time, and his legacy lives on well after his death. Now, Andy's former townhouse is on the market for $5.795 million, which is incredible due to the fact that he originally bought it for $60,000 in 1959. Located at 1342 Lexington Avenue in New York, NY, it is indeed the home he shared with his mother and used as a painting studio.

After Warhol's manager, Frederick W. Hughes, bought the home in 1989 (for $593,000), there have been two owners, the latter who is selling it now. It's been continuously remodeled and doesn't represent an artist's studio space at all; it's a luxurious, 3,072-square-foot space with 4 bedrooms fit for a king.
