The facade of the Splash Launderette in Barcelona features neon lighting and large glass doors, so you know they're not joking when trying to revamp the typically drab exterior of a laundromat. Its interior, designed by Frederic Perers, consists of steel appliances and surfaces, white-tiled walls, wooden benches, and orange and yellow lighting, aimed to add visual comfort to the space. In order to minimize the unpleasant glare of the usually white fluorescent lighting, ceiling lights are filtered through a gridded surface, while warmer hues are designed to contrast the "cold" of the steel and tile surfaces.
