Gagosian Gallery and the Henry Moore Foundation have brought the artist's large-scale sculptures (originally at Gagosian's Britannia Street location in London earlier this year) to Chelsea. Moore's work is known for celebrating the power of organic forms. The debut of his work in the '70s was revolutionary, at a time when traditional representation was largely eschewed by the vanguard art establishment. The sculptures are meant to be interacted with, whether in the gallery or outdoors.
In Moore's words, "Everything I do, I intend to make on a large scale... Size itself has its own impact, and physically we can relate more strongly to a big sculpture than to a small one."
