Icelandic design is on full display at the new Icelandair Hotel Reykjavik Marina. Designed by THG Architects, the 108-room hotel is located in the harbor district of the city's downtown. The marina, while up-and-coming culturally now, has a rich trade history. Elements of the past are employed in the hotel's interior design. At one time the building housed a paint factory, at another it was a service building for a nearby dry dock.

The historic mix and contemporary design combine to provide an informal dialogue between space and guests. You learn, through colorful signage, about the history. And, through the juxtaposition of rough wood and smooth upholstery, gain a sense of Iceland's rich design history.
