Not everyone is privileged enough to own a blimp or a Gulfstream 650 (read G6), so many of the world's breathtaking views are unobtainable. Luckily, aerial photography is a genre giving us the view we may only get on occasion.
First practiced in 19th century France, aerial photography has been taken from many airborne platforms including balloons, helicopters, rockets, and outfitted pigeons. Unreal landscapes, perfectly symmetrical urban centers, and braided overpasses have all been captured in photographs so that we, the wingless, can still enjoy the views. We've collected some of them for your viewing pleasure in this gallery of 50 Incredible Aerial Photographs.
