Trendsetter: Hippies

Of course, we all know camo originated through military need. But did you know its fashionable use was adopted in attempts to demilitarize the pattern? When anti-war protesters in the '70s took to the streets in opposition of the Vietnam War, M-65 jackets and camo pants were the staple look of those liberal hippies. Now, you can find camo-patterned-anything that is considered cool clothing, so it looks as though the protesting hippies did more with their fashion choice then with their actual protests.
