Pay phones in the Upper West Side have seen a recent transformation thanks to NYC-based architectural designer John Locke. By customizing a series of lightweight bookshelves, the designer was able install a total four "public libraries" located inside standard phone booths. Locke even filled the repository with books but seeing how this is NYC, some of the units were taken away in just a few hours. And, probably urinated on as well.
